Covered Collector

AmHydro Pro NFT systems utilize the 'sliding bench' technique where channels can be easily moved to accommodate different crop spacings. This level of adaptability is crucial for growers to diversify and cultivate other crops as market demand fluctuates.

The Open Nutrient Collector, formally employed in the 'sliding bench' technique, has engendered algae growth and nutrient splashing, which required constant cleaning. THAT, is now IN THE PAST.  Our new covered collector puts the AmHydro Pro NFT system in a league of its own.  Less labor, more performance... key ingredients to success.

Covered Collector Modules come in 10 foot and 5 foot sections. Price is roughly $7.50 per running foot and comes with everthing you need to attach to your existing system. We are offering AmHydro clients 20% OFF to retrofit their existing NFT systems.  Currently, covered collectors are not avaliable online.  Please contact us via e-mail or call 800.458.6543 for a quotation on a custom retrofit.

Features

  • The covered collector is made from super durable HDPE (high density polyethylene).
  • Every collector has its own flexible drain that connects to the main return pipe.

Benefits

  • The sliding bench NFT system (where channels move freely on the support benches) is superior to other methods as channels are easily moved to accommodate different sized crops. There are no fittings to clog or prevent movement as in other systems.  
  • The covered collector is made from HDPE, a recyclable material, easy to clean, super durable.
  • HDPE pipe is co-extruded, white on the outside to reflect light, black on the inside to deter algae growth.
  • Once channels are inserted in collector, the cover retains it’s position making it easy to move channels in and out as well as prevent splashing.
  • Downspouts at every 10’ move the nutrient solution quickly from the collector back to the nutrient reservoir. This feature minimizes the amount of nutrient in the collector at any one time and rushes it down to the insulated return pipe minimizing temp gain or temp loss.

Specifications

Each covered collector is designed to fit your system. For example, if your NFT table is 100' long, you will require ten, 10 foot covered collector modules. Each module come with two end caps, custom drain fitting and hardware to attach to table frame top rail. Please contact us for a quotation.
