With the introduction of the all-new AmHydro web site, we've introduced our Discussion Forums as a place for you to come and discuss all things hydroponic. Ask us or other growers questions, or tell us about your tried-and-true techniques. Common etiquette and ground rules apply -- discussions about illicit crops are not allowed.
I have been thinking about this for a while now. How am I going to harvest the plants that are in the dead center of the NFT channels?
I am looking into the Pro Module system so I would have around 15000 plants harvesting 2800 plants a week, so how do I get to the center plants. It seems like its going to be a challenge, or am I missing something?
Our NFT systems produce plants my utilizing three stages. The three stages are propagation, nursery and finishing. The plants will live in each stage for two weeks. To rotate the plants, the channels are picked up and moved to a staging area.
For example... when harvesting, the finishing channel is picked up and taken to a staging area where the plants are removed and packaged. Nursery plants are than added to the finishing channel and put back into the system. Propagation plants are than put into the nursery channel and put back into the system. After the full rotation takes place, the propagation trays are re-seeded and the process starts all over again.
All growers go about the rotation differently. The best way to get a grasp on Crop Turn Technology, is to get a small system and grow. Happy growing.
