Arcata, California — June 23, 2008 — American Hydroponics, creator of the original Baby Bloomer home hydroponic garden and ultra-efficient NFT commercial growing systems, introduced a complete overhaul of the company's website today.  The new web site is built around an advanced content management system that allows the company to quickly respond to the needs of its customers.  

"This is a big day for us.  We're thrilled that we can finally begin to provide our customers with cutting edge solutions to their needs using advanced Internet technology," says Michael Christian, president of American Hydroponics.  The new web site features several choices for customer support including an extensive F.A.Q. (frequently asked questions), Knowledge Base, community-like Discussion Forums, and access to personalized technical support.

Michael continues, "ultimately, this means that our customers have quick and on-demand access to the answers they need the most.  They also have access to our extensive catalog of hydroponic supplies right from their computer, and shipped right to their farm or home."  With access to the entire catalog, farmers and growers can now order everything from complete greenhouse systems all the way down to the root cubes used for starting seedlings.

The new web site is extremely extensible and has future expansion efforts already underway, including a system that allows the retailers of our products to get credit for sales made through the web site.  With over 500 dealers worldwide selling products to home gardners, the retailers account for a significant portion of the company's sales.  "It's a no-brainer for us to involve our retailers in this endeavor," says Kelley Nicholson, Director of Wholesale Sales.
