Solar Revolution

The Sun Circle and Sun Twist lamp rotators were products American Hydroponics brought into this industry between 1984 and 2004. We manufactured and sold many 1000’s of them until 2004, when we decided to discontinue the product line (due to outrageous component cost increases) and focus on products for the commercial hydroponic market. We receive inquires for lamp rotators all the time, AND still repair and service Circles and Twists, some of which have been in operation for over 20 years.

We decided to keep up the lamp moving tradition here at AmHydro by promoting the Solar Revolution. We have thoroughly dissected the product; it is very well made and we stand behind it. Through 100’s of trials though the years comparing stationary to moving lamps, we found over and over the light incidence to leaf surface area was greater when lamps were moved as long as the duration was long enough for a high level of photosynthesis. The rotating frequency of the Solar Revolution was engineered with this in mind.

When growing in square or multiples of square areas, rotators work well. It’s safe to expect a savings of 10-20% in power costs with no loss in plant performance. Moving lights of different spectral frequencies or PAR values is an extra-added bonus.
