Nutrient Additives

If you are growing with a well balanced nutrient formula, why would you need a nutrient additive?

A balanced nutrient formula is crucial and must be formulated to your source water, crop and environment. There are seasonal shifts and adverse environmental conditions that inevitably occur in any growing operation that warrant the use of preventative measures. additives fall in that category. For instance: in high humidity, high temperature (low transpiration) lettuce growing situations, tip burn is highly probable as calcium (a non-mobile element) cannot get to the growing tips. With AminoActin in your nutrient solution at those times of year, you can avoid that problem as the amino acids in AminoActin chelate (make available) calcium and keep it in solution. Same with Tomatoes and BER (blossom end rot). it is the calcium that must be encouraged to stay in solution during low transpiration conditions.

At certain times of year when nutrient temps soar, adding Companion to your nutrient solution will coat your roots with Bacillus Subtilis that actually crowd out pathogens such as pythium and fusarium.

All of our additives are time tested and only available through American Hydroponics.
